Biotechnology Society of Nigeria Presents Propose New Curriculum

BSN Presents Propose New Curriculum To NUC. The Biotechnology Society of Nigeria (BSN) has presented a proposed new curriculum for the teaching of Biotechnology in Nigerian universities to the National Universities Commission (NUC). The proposed curriculum, which was developed by BSN, integrates elements of engineering as well as agricultural, medical and environmental sciences, among other sciences, to produce a well-rounded graduate. Presenting the document last Wednesday, the President of BSN, Professor Benjamin Ubi, informed the NUC that the curriculum covered all aspects of Biotechnology, without bias to any particular field. This would ensure the production of an all-round graduate, with an option of specialising in any of the major components, at postgraduate level. JAMB to release 1.3 Million Results for 2018 UTME

According to JAMB Head of Information, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, who stated this on Sunday in an interview, the UTME results of Computer-Based Test centres where the CCTV showed malpractices had been cancelled. He further disclosed that the board through CCTV cameras discovered some of the strange things that happened in some of the examination centres. He mentioned cases of CBT centre owners collecting money from candidates to engage in malpractices and also threatening JAMB officials at the centres. Regarding candidates whose biometric details could not be verified, Benjamin said such candidates would not be allowed to retake the examination, as the biometric verification had already disqualified them.

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the establishment of Zamfara State University, Talata-Mafara in Zamfara State. The National Universities Commission (NUC) has given approval to the establishment of Zamfara State University as the 47th state university in the country. According to the Executive Secretary of NUC, Prof. Abubakar Raheed, who made this known while giving a letter of approval to the government of Zamfara state in Abuja, government should be more dedication toward promoting education development in the state and country. JAMB to release more of the 2018 UTME Results by Monday, 19th of March, 2018.

JAMB has promised to release more of the 2018 UTME results on 19th March. This was confirmed by The Head of Media of the Board, Dr Fabian Benjamin on Saturday. This statement is coming as JAMB concludes the 2018 UTME. Dr Fabian also said that the results were being scrutinized, to ensure that result are transparent and accurate, in order to avoid cancellation once released. 2018 Candidates are therefore advised to patiently wait, and can check back here on Myschool for any procedures, sharing of results and guidance on how to ultimately gain admission this year.

JAMB Plans For Candidates To Do Future UTME At Home.

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Examination Board (JAMB) has hinted of plans to have the tertiary institutions entry examination written by candidates from their places of residence across the country. The board spokesman, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, made this disclosure while featuring on a radio current affairs program, Day Break Show, yesterday in Abeokuta. “We are thinking of open book examinations or allowing them write the examination from their houses. Once we get the required technology, we can do it,” he declared. UTME: Candidate Who Hid Phone In Her Pant, Arrested in Abuja.

According to Premiumtimes, officials of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have arrested one miss Udoh Akpabio and her accomplice for alleged examination malpractice in the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). . . Akpabio was caught with a phone concealed in her underwear, while the examination was on at Baptist Academy, Karu, FCT. Also caught was Andrew Etziuzala, said to be aiding Akpabio in the cheating process. . . WAEC released 2018 Waec GCE results and Statistics for (Jan/Feb 1st Series Exam) – Only 1,937 Candidates Obtained 5 Credits Including English & Maths.

The results of 1,021 private candidates, out of the 11,307 who sat for the 2018 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) January/February series, have been withheld due to examination malpractice. Mr Olu Adenipekun, Head of National Office (HNO) of the WAEC, stated this while announcing the release of the results in a briefing in Lagos. He said the cases were being investigated and that reports of the investigations would be presented to the appropriate committee of the council in due course, for consideration. “The committee’s decisions will be communicated to the affected candidates,’’ Mr. Adenipekun said. According to him, 11,721 candidates registered for the examination, while 11,307 actually sat for the test. 18-Year-Old Girl Commits Suicide Over JAMB UTME Score In Delta State.

A Jambite simply identified as Loveth has reportedly committed suicide in Ekiugbo, Ughelli North local government area of Delta State. Loveth, who was said to be displeased with the 163 mark she garnered in the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), was found dead at her home on Wednesday morning. Our correspondent gathered that the deceased picked medicine as her choice of study. The Nation gathered that the deceased took three bottles of Sniper and these were found by her side on Wednesday morning. 2018 JAMB (UTME) E-Registration Slip Reprinting

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) wishes to inform all 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidates that they can re-print their registration slips to access their examination centres online from Tuesday, March 6th 2018. The candidates must ensure that the slips are printed before Friday, March 9 in order to familiarise themselves with the examination schedules as no form of excuse for missing the examination will be entertained. JAMB hereby warns that the board will not reschedule any examination for anybody and so any candidate that fails to adhere strictly to the examination schedule as stated in their slips should have himself or herself to blame. OSUSTECH Admits 1,000 Students for 2017/2018 Session.

No fewer than 1,000 new students will be officially admitted into the Ondo State University of Science and Technology (OSUSTECH), Okitipupa during the 2017/2018 academic session matriculation ceremony scheduled to hold on Thursday, 8th March, 2018.
